Over the last 30 years, Janet has held a variety of senior management / leadership positions within a range of industries including vocational education and training (VET), employment services, emergency services, mining, insurance, health and aged care, including:
- Director Training and Development, Fire and Emergency Services (WA)
- State Manager, MEGT
- National Manager, TRACMIN
- Training Manager, Silver Chain Nursing Association
Janet has held a number of Board Positions, for example:

- Experienced and qualified vocational education and training (VET) professional with extensive experience in managing a Registered Training Organisation.
- Experienced and innovative manager of change with sound strategic planning skills.
- Strong background in developing, implementing and continuously improving quality assurance systems.
- Experienced tender writer, eg. as a member of a national tender team, successfully secured an Australian Government Contract, for 2 years (with 2 extension options) to the value of approx $70 million per annum.
- Accredited Executive Leadership Coach.
- State Finalist of the Telstra Business Women of the Year 2004.
