Future Institute of Australia case study with client

Summary

The AngloGold Ashanti Australia Managerial Development Program commenced in June 2019 with the goal of developing the organisation’s leaders. The program is delivered in cohorts of up to 18 participants and spans 18 months. Over the past 4 years AngloGold Ashanti has rolled out training for multiple cohorts.

This program is aligned to the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management  and is closely aligned to the leader’s needs, to assist them in improving their leadership capability.  The program also embodies AngloGold Ashanti’s Values and Behaviours.

Program Design and Customisation

Future Institute created a working group with AngloGold Ashanti which confirmed the specific training needs for this level of leadership.  The working group met regularly to customise all of the training material and assessments, using organisational documents, policies, processes and scenarios to create the fully customised BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.  The working group also identified real projects throughout the program for participants to work on to ensure practical application of new skills, knowledge and capabilities that were highly relevant to the leaders’ roles.

The program is reviewed and continually updated with improvements after each program.

Program Delivery

The Australian Managerial Development Program comprised of 12 Units of Competency.

Prior to each workshop, the participants are required to complete eLearning modules for each Unit of Competency which provide the underpinning knowledge required prior to attending each face-to-face workshop.

The face-to-face workshops focused on activity-based learning. The workshops were highly interactive with small / large group activities allowing for discussions and debriefing, all relevant to the challenges the leaders face every day.

Progress

AngloGold Ashanti are up to their 7th Cohort under the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management with earlier cohorts having successfully completed.
