Team leaders in the mining sector must adopt a comprehensive approach to risk management. Their roles extend beyond a basic understanding of industry regulation. They're not only ensuring compliance but actively prioritising the safety of their teams. Recognising this, our course tackles these vital challenges head-on, preparing participants to effectively handle the inherent risks of mining.
The structure of our course is built around offering participants clear theoretical insights into both leadership and mining practices. We've carefully designed the curriculum to encompass essential mining methods as well as foundational leadership principles. Regardless of whether you're a seasoned team leader with extensive practical experience or an emerging one just starting out, our course structure aims to prepare you for varied leadership roles within the mining sector.
In mining operations, both leadership skills and technical expertise are crucial for managers and leaders. Our course touches on elements that may particularly resonate with those from a mining engineering background or with knowledge of surface extraction operations, including open cut mines. At the heart of this training, however, is the objective of empowering leaders with robust safety procedures to ensure seamless and safe operations.
The skills I developed from Future Institute Australia’s Leadership and Management course improved my confidence to work in a team as a Mining Engineer tremendously. The course structure was very relevant to many areas of my work, and I was able to apply these skills I learned daily at work. For example, the course taught me how to keep the attention of an audience when delivering a presentation in additional to providing the skills to better manage projects. – (Past Student) Faraz Ferdosian, Mining Engineer
