How much time is wasted attending unproductive or unnecessary meetings?

Emails

How much time do you spend fielding and responding to emails? Do you do this systematically, so you are only opening an email once? On average managers spend 13 hours a week reading, re-reading and responding to email. That’s 624 hours annually, equivalent to 15 weeks for an average full-time worker! How many of these emails where actually important, relevant to you personally or require action?

This is a not a training course, it is a change management strategy designed for senior management.

By emphasising the importance of streamlining communication methods and implementing best practice to assist senior management to analyse and change existing organisational meeting and email protocols, we believe that an organisation can save up to 2 hours per week, per manager, thus saving the organisation tens of thousands of dollars each year.

This approach aligns with the growing awareness of the time and resources wasted on unproductive emails and meetings and highlights the potential for significant savings and improvements in productivity.

To ensure this workshop meets the specific needs of your organisation, our Facilitator will organise a virtual meeting to customise and contextualise the discussion and activities.

Learning Outcomes

In the facilitated workshop, senior management will discuss and agree on a range of organisational changes, including, but not limited to:

  • Identification of inefficiencies within current meeting processes and analysis of these costs
  • How to keep your meetings on track with TRAM – Timely, Results focused, Achievable or Actionable, Manageable or Motivating
  • Implementation strategies to encourage commitment and effective actions and measures to follow up actions and monitoring progress
  • Implementation strategies to reduce time spent reading and responding to emails
  • Understanding of email etiquette, writing professional emails and cc’ing appropriately
  • Organising and managing your inbox and the use of Outlook features and shortcuts
